The Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager will be responsible for managing the large and complex raw water treatment and waste water treatment system (activated biomass lagoon, multiple clarification steps) to deliver outstanding results in the areas of safety, environmental regulation and permit compliance, employee engagement, reliability, cost, quality, and productivity.

Key duties and expectations:

  • Promote a safe and caring culture with the Water and Wastewater Treatment area.
  • Maintain full compliance with all regulations and permit limits.
  • Meet the corporate requirements for managing waste water systems and interface with environmental department and corporate resources on issues.
  • Set expectations, leverage teamwork, and hold individuals and team accountable for results.
  • Provide necessary resources to the crew to achieve their goals.
  • Work with other mill areas to ensure necessary information and coordination with the water and wastewater treatment area is being communicated.
  • Work with crew members to identify and improve their individual skills.
  • Set maintenance priorities on a weekly basis and lead the mill outage activities in the areas of responsibility.
  • Implement reliability and manufacturing excellence initiatives such as work systems, basic care, and RCFA.
  • Ability and desire to lead and participate in continued training and development regarding theory and operation of activated sludge systems.


Qualifications:

  • B.
    S.
    degree in Engineering or related field required strongly preferred.
  • 5 7 years experience in wastewater treatment or related field.
  • Applicable experience could possibly serve as a substitute for a B.
    S.
    degree.
  • Strong leadership skills and a proven track record of improving employee engagement.
