Process Engineers will be assigned to a specific department within the mill.
Major departments include Pulp Mill, Bleach Plant, Powerhouse, Paper Machines, or Finished Products.

Responsibilities may require engineers to:

  • plan and execute process improvements;
  • troubleshoot process and/or equipment issues, involving equipment such as digesters, power or recovery boilers, paper machines, evaporators, and chemical additive systems, to name just a few;
  • use various computer systems and tools to perform data analysis to make critical data-driven decisions;
  • manage trials on machines or with various processes;
  • investigate and implement energy and cost saving projects;
  • work closely with operators and other engineers;
  • give presentations to mill management about project recommendations;
  • develop training materials and train operators on new procedures;
  • pull samples from different stages of the process for quality analysis;
  • coordinate shutdown of equipment and operations; and similar work.
  • learn and utilize Lean/Six Sigma tools to improve process/reduce costs.

    Degrees required.
    Desired majors:
    Chemical Engineering and/or Paper Science Engineering
  • Candidates should have 0-5 years of experience.
    Manufacturing internship and/or co-op experience a plus.
  • Desire to work in manufacturing setting
  • Preference for manufacturing management career path
  • Highly motivated, results-driven individual who can also perform well in a team setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
